Lineage Poem Margaret Walker Analysis
THE VALUE OF 'UNITA' OF ITALY
The value of the nation is not questionable. Our national unity was the beginning of a dream brought to fruition with the momentum of our heroic compatriots in the Great War, when Italy became even geographically united. We should ask ourselves why March 17 is not a symbolic date in our national calendar, and why other dates for other ominous, but is celebrated as an "holidays." Let's stop the hypocrisy and weakness of the left liberal thought. Plant them with the bogeyman of the north-independent, does not acknowledge that low in our national history.
What distinguishes a population that identifies itself in deeds of their fathers is the feeling of Pietas, so dear to the Romans, our ancestors. Well, today in Italy the politicians do not seem to cultivate this noble impulse. If in Italy you had respect for the symbols, heroes, for the dates uplifting, never considered himself a mere formality, or even worse, an opportunity to make a "bridge", the date of national unity. Only those who lose self-consciousness, who lose the sense of our national mission considers the unification of Italy a celebration institutional disheartened.
The truth is that our nation 60 years is unable to conceive an idea, is not capable of crossing the barriers imposed by politics and its parties. The reality is that our country is not yet a nation. Closed circle in the short-interest, the non-addicted dell'Italietta bourgeois power, we are content to survive and not perish under the blows of the mafias, the widespread corruption of the democratic system, judicial and banking that oppresses us. A 'Italy is satisfied that faction is not the nation. It 'the expression of elites committed to share out slices of pseudo-power and ready to deal not for the common good but for the few.
Yet the 'Italy is not been just that. In its 150 years of history conceived movements, people, ideas, deeds, examples that could fill the pages of a history book, but it is not. The texts of the history of our great schools prefer to bring in their programs, both at medium to high schools, businesses of the French Revolution. Let's face it: who among us has not learned at school the Marseillaise? In our schools, where they should train our children will prefer to give importance to the modern history of other nations, instead of deepening heroic figures, such as Mameli, our Risorgimento.
However it would be reductive to limit our story last century and a half. The background cultural, ethnic, political, our nation is rooted in the past greek-Roman, Christian ecumenism, in the establishment of municipalities, the imperial idea, in the example of the saints, in the blood of heroes, the brave adventurers, in 'intuition of artists, farmers in the arms of our fathers, the daggers of the Arditi. Before being born as a nation, Italy is the land of our fathers.
Today is March 17, the day when the idea of \u200b\u200bimmortal country is embodied in people, we recognize in the symbols and unites the nation. Let us be worthy witnesses.
Long live Italy!
